depending on the severity of depression st johns wort may not work. no alcohol for its a depressant. so if you are mildly depress try st.johns in am and pm for at lowest 6 months
i own be on zoloft and switched to st johns wort no problem same affect

The most defining entity I can add on to what everyone else have already said is don't transport St. John's Wort beside oral contraceptives. It collectively renders them ineffective.
