My friend said that enamel is the strongest thing on your body, is it? When i chew thorny stuff, like fried beans, which are fundamentally hard and crunchy, does it break past its sell-by date enamel? I know that acid can break down enamel.
Answers: Your friend is right, enamel is the strongest substance within the body. The fact that it is so easier said than done makes us pocket for granted how brittle it is. Therefore chewing very intricate and crunchy foods and even grinding your teeth can cause the teeth to chip rotten or break. Acids from soda pop and sugar digestion (by bacteria) demineralize the tooth and puts you at risk for developing cavities.
At 52 years, I hold a number of teeth that own broken off from run of the mill eating. I do brush, and don't munch through sugar, or drink pepsi.
