My 2 year mature son's front teeth are rather discolored. They are a frothy brown color and are contained by between his 2 front teeth. Also one of them seem to be rotting for a while. Pediatric office are great at working near children and helping prepare the best treatment available. The dentist will probably do a consult appointment on the first call in. They may do something as simple as giving your child drug prior to the appt. and nitrous oxide (he may be too young) "laughing gas" to relax him for the procedure. After your child is comfortable (as possible) they will complete the nourishing.
Be sure to ask these question to the pediatric dentist. Just tell to your son more or less how fun/helpful the dentist is - preserve it standard lamp and brief. Have a treat (i.e. trial toy) all set for him after the appointment.
