Yes, I have be playing trumpet with braces for 3 months immediately and my tone and range are really honest again if anything better. I've played trumpet for 7 years now. But for the ending couple of days i've been sounding approaching crap. my lip has be getting cut up from my braces again tho if it helps near answering my question. Is this average? Does this just occur every so often because i havent changed any course in my trumpet playing although my throught have been hurting lately. Thanks if you guys can assist me out.
Answers: I had braces for a while and I played trumpet. The same piece happened to me. You can buy dental wax at close to Walmart or something and stick it on your braces where they cut your lip. When you're done playing merely take it sour or people look at you benevolent of funny. If that doesn't work fo you then you own to tough it out and keep on playing.
Best of luck,
Bethany
i enjoy played trumpet for more than 9 years now... and four of those years, be with braces... i tried the wax... i tried the little plastic * that you can slide right over your braces... nothin really worked... so i a short time ago sucked it up... and continued playing. my lips get cut, sometimes to the point were they be bleeding so bad, when the "water" be emptied it be red. but i kept playing. really... this is the only style i really could have ever imagined playing near braces... because you realize that calluses form reasonably quickly, and, once they form, your playing will be immaculate for braces... as long as you actually play every sunshine... i hope this helps... i kno it's lately my story, but i really hated the wax and stuff that supposedly "helps"
