Has anyone have experience near this contraption. The orthodotnist recommened this for my 12 year antediluvian son and I a short time ago considered necessary to know what the experiences that you hold have are?

I worked for 2 years within an orthodontic practice that used the Herbst device. It comprises of stainless-steel crowns and metal band top and bottom near a piston/spring that uses pressure to credit the lower jowl. Most kids find it tough to eat/speak for just about a week but win used to it unbelievably like a shot. It may or may not own an expansion device as all right (which would be used to expand the upper jaw). Pain may ensue around the cheek communal central to a headache for the first week or so. The teeth can bring tender as all right. Some orthodontists approaching using them, others dont. I found a website that explains a bit almost them - not sure if it help or not! Good luck
