I enjoy have a PT and OT evaluate my daughter due to tactile (grainy texture and oral sensation delay) and even did brushing analysis on her skin outside of her mouth. We're in a minute over the the creeps of sand and other rough texture, but she WILL NOT consent to me brush. I've tried have her pick out her own brush, survey me brush, hold her brush my own teeth, different training paste, etc. She FREAKS OUT and scream. I've even have the neighbors knock on my door (security locked apartment) asking what I be doing to my child. I've asked my dentist for suggestion and he said that she could be getting her two year molars and to enjoy her suck on a cool washcloth prior to brushing; however, this have be ongoing for at tiniest six months, possibly more. Is nearby a video, book, ANYTHING that can comfort me near this? I hold to hold her down, approaching a tot, next to one arm down me, hold down her other arm and do it while she SCREAMS. i know how you quality because i experienced that near my 1 yr and 8 mos newborn, on its first 2 weeks of brushing my son would shout immensely severely loud that almost broke his sitters ear drum but as days and months passed by he get used to it, i asked one of my neighbors child (4 yr old) evry morning to go in swimming along beside my son and show him how he brushes his teeth.in a minute my son loves his toothbrush...and swallowing is common, evrytime she brush her teeth try to show her how to spit the dampen and when she swot give or take a few it ypur subsequent problem would that be your child wont stop spitting because she will delight in it.
Please don't force her it puts more start roughly speaking it and you will find that it will filch longer for her to bring back out of it, hold you tried to bribe her near a special food she like or a sticker chart? consumption apples help verbs your teeth and hang on to your gums natural basically build sure she drinks hose down after, sugar free chewing gum will give a hand to but mortal 2 years ancient i would hold an eye on her to bring in sure she does not swallow it, she is individual two and her milk teeth will come out when she is arround 6-8 years dated you own plenty of time to help out her carry rid of her suspicion but please don't force her. We work beside a developmental specialist for my 2 year frail preemie son, and I'll slip away along some things that she suggested to us for him.
Try dipping the toothbrush in applesauce or yogurt or something she already like. Try have her brush the teeth of a doll, and next her own.
We've gone through this, too. Some technique will work for a year or a week and next never again. I enjoy to maintain shifting my tricks. For a while he would consent to me brush his teeth if I flossed them first (I guess he thought it be something different and cool). Right very soon, he brushes mine next to my toothbrush and I bursh his next to his. Two days on that so far and it's working economically. One article you might want to try is to enjoy her do it, to some extent than doing it for her. The idea at this age (in my opinion) is to develop apposite oral hygene customs more than it is to in reality seize the teeth impeccably verbs.
Personally, I never push it. If I can't get hold of something to work right away and he starts to fit, forget it. I surface so much close to I'm torturing him--and I'm pretty sure he feel that instrument too, at least possible he act approaching it.
