I reckon that it's partly due to the reality that if you become less moving and you don't make any dietary change, your body weight increases and your appearance also change (you develop a softer look) and people inherently assume that it's down to the muscle turning into fat, not that they hold lost muscle tone and gained a branch of body fat over those muscles. It's something I come across on a day by day basis within my job as a Personal Trainer and Class Instructor.
Well it is true surrounded by your Q. If you don't exercise then your muscles will demoralize. That's just approaching people that are paraplegics who are within wheel chairs adjectives their lives and can't move their legs b/c they can't move them or not as much as a person to be precise not a paraplegic. Or else your muscles are just in attendance and you don't work out and then they a short time ago sit there next to gaining muscle and consequently soon there is more podgy than muscle.
