Is bicycling correct exercise?

I used to run, and only just tried to receive vertebrae into it, but my knees are messed up. So, I fixed to try bicycling, and be wondering, if it's a really polite type of exercise?

Also, is it possible to lose cargo this course (ideally, I'd similar to to lose 15-20 lbs; would this be possible near this type of exercise, and a strong diet?)? Is here anything else I should do, or would give a hand? My husband and I are planning at starting out at 12-14 miles every morning (or one hour), five days a week.

What muscles are person worked when you ride? Are within exercises I can do to strengthen my legs? It's be like mad more difficult than I thought it would be!

Finally, would bicycling back strengthen my knees so I could run again? Thank you so much!

I would suggest knees pad to comfort cushion your knees while riding. Biking is a apt exercise and it works your butt, stomach, legs, etc. It certainly cause you to use your full body! I am 79 years ripened, and biking have be a godsend for me. When I first started, I did fitting to do a partially mile. Now I do a minimum of 3-4 miles and sometimes 5-10 miles which doesn't only just compare beside your aspirations, but it have be great for my condition.
I also own doomed to failure knees, but I'm still competent to ride w/ a modicum of misery, luckily.
