Hey i have need of exercise give a hand!?

ive be doing sit ups to tone my stomach but my friend said that it doesnt even take rid of the fleshy of the bottom of the stomach only the top so what do i do to tone up the botton bit and if anyone have any other exercise thinking or plans gratitude ..x
