The doctors told me that I have some tissue between my lung and my breastbone. Has anyone ever have this since or know that someone have? Or know what this is, if you are a doctor?

Yeah everyone does, the pleura, it is a membrane that enclose the lungs. If you be contained by the er suffering from something lung related I assume you enjoy pleurisy of some sort. So look it up and read adjectives in the order of it.
Before the ER Doctor discharged you, he should hold explained you condition to you. However, the E.R. does draw from busy and the return with preoccupied. Especially, if he feel this is NOT an emergency.
Regardless, he should hold referred you to a specialist for follow up. Hopefully, they will be more compasssionate and explain it to you completely.
