A pimple is a result of a blockage of the skin's pore. See Acne vulgaris.
Inside the pore are sebaceous glands which produce sticky sebum. When the outer layer of skin shed (as it does continuously), the insensible skin cell vanished down may become 'glue' together by the sticky sebum. This cause a blockage surrounded by the pore, especially when the skin become thicker at puberty[1]. The sebaceous glands produce more sebum which builds up losing the blockage, and this sebum harbour varied microbes including the species Propionibacterium acnes. Since the body's unprocessed safety against microbes is primarily phagocytes (white blood cells), these rush to the site trailing the blockage (where the germs are). This is what give some pimples the 'whiteheads' (unless the Phagocytes are deeper contained by the skin, which method you can't see the 'white' cause by them). The white blood cell next verbs (by phagocytosis) the germs to prevent infection. The misery one may quality when a pimple is present is cause by the widen of skin around the white blood cell.
