hi,
i only just get some blood work done for my T3 and reverse T3.
however since greatly of endocrinologists do not know/ or enjoy not read the recent studies in the order of reverse T3 for thyroid diagnosis, they do not know how to interpret the results.
below are some extracts from the research papers.
"few practicing physicians, including endocrinologist, are aware this because it be not skilled within medical academy, but it contributes to low tissue level of thyroid contained by a significant percentage of patients beside symptoms"
AND
"Most endocrinologists believe that reverse T3 (rT3) is merely and sitting metabolite near no physiologic effect, which is not the casing, This study and subsequent others demonstrate that rT3 is a more potent inhibitor of T4 to T3 conversion than PTU (propylthio-uracil),. In reality, rT3 is 100 times more potent than PTU at reducing T4 to T3 conversion.
anyways till i find a doctor- can someone aid me add it so i can check if its contained by the average range
thx
Answers:
I assume I'd achieve a free t3 also. Total T3 of late tell you how much T3 in that is. It doesn't communicate you how much is available.
Why did your doctor do a reverse T3 if he/she didn't know what the results would close-fisted?
200-300 pmol/L is the average collection. Levels greater than 400 suggest rT3 dominance.
