How come i can blow hot nouns on my hand, and cold nouns on soup?

When my hands are cold i can "breathe" on them and get them warm. but at like time i can "blow" on hot soup and have cold nouns come out. why is this?

Answers:    it all have to do with the velocity of the atmosphere. To warm our hand we breath into them but we increase the speed of the air to cool the soup.
It's adjectives relative. The soup is above your breath temperature, your hand are below. It's no different than looking up to a tall guy and down at a short fella, except instead of height above sea level you are talking warmth.
