My surgery was 6 days ago. I hold had like mad of pain, both anteriiorly and exteriorly to the site. Now I hold lost my appetite . My surgeon says he cleared out greatly of sludge from the common bile duct. and this sometimes cause a rebirth of pancreatitis. I am so sick of individual sick! Am I to be at the mercy of my pancreas for the rest of my life? Does anyone know how long it should hold before I start consciousness better? What can I do to speed the process?
I should mention I also have severe arthritis of the spine, so I am on Pain Management. I pretty much am on my own as to how much discomfort medicatiion (oxycontin) to take contained by view of the optional post op pain. Currentlly I am taking one dose every 4 hrs while my everyday is every 6 hours.
There is so much to sort out and I am over my head trying to stability the pain, the malaise, the need of appetite, the low grade temp., not to mention bowel problems. Do I christen my gastroenterologist or my surgeon? Help!
Answers: i hope your only going to hold just this one attack.you may be suffering from post cholecystectomy syndrome, which essentially is like symtpoms after gb removal as before.also, your impudence bladder may be the victim of your pancreas, as evidenced by sludge.did you enjoy any stones?? generally, sludge is an inflammatory response.i run a webgroup related the the pancreas and i may suggest that you come surrounded by and see for yourself. we are at: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/sph...
otherwise, please dont wait and call upon both doctors and see who you can get contained by to see asap.a fever could also be a sign of an infection anywhere-the surgical site or inside the pancreas and or biliary system.
