I want to know what are the effects of marijuana on a being who have recieved a kidney transplat. I'm asking because every time I turn see my kidney doctors. He asks if I've drank, smoked or done drugs. I've drank a bit but that's it. But I've other merely wondered what would take place if I did. I know of another transplant merciful who did and they be fine. I would never do it and risk losing my kidney, but I WOULD similar to some info. And please singular serious answers and no lectures please. I'm lately curious
Answers:
THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) in Marijuana impair the immune system's competence to punch-up stale infectious diseases and cancer. In laboratory experiments that exposed animal and human cell to THC or other marijuana ingredients, the common disease-preventing reaction of various of the switch types of immune cell be inhibited. In other studies, mice exposed to THC or related substances be more imagined than unexposed mice to develop bacterial infections and tumors.
Based on these facts, it is confident to verbs that if marijuana use cause these adverse effects contained by NORMAL clean humans, it will bring equal amount of spoil (if not more) contained by transplant patients.
For a kidney transplant patient, any stress is indiscreet.
In appendage, a transplant tolerant wishes to bring immunosuppressants. Marijuana impair the immune system's skilfulness to confrontation sour infectious diseases and cancer. Hence the likelihood of infection and/ or cancer increases next to marijuana use surrounded by baggage of transplant patients.
As per the Publication of Drug Watch Oregon, Volume 3, No. 4, January 1997, a 48 year hoary successful kidney transplant merciful who heavily used marijuana now following his transplant developed invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA), a fungus transmitted in the smoke of marijuana. Marks et al reported on their use of an experimental antifungal drug to effectively treat this natural life threatening condition (Transplantation, Vol. 61, 1771-1773, No. 12, June 27, 1996), and noted that IPA "is a devastating complication in the immuno-compromised patient" such as patients near AIDS, chronic granulomatous disease, bone marrow transplants and those unloading chemotherapy for small cell lung cancer. Aspergillosis have up to a 90% fatality rate if contracted by transplant patients.
In my valise, my transplant clinic have strictly recommended that I should not smoke, drink or do drugs after my transplant. (I never smoked, drank or did drugs in my enthusiasm - Thank God!). The intention one that these interfere near the immunosuppressants and exact more spoil within transplant patients than contained by regular ethnic group.
If you are drinking ("a bit") please stricture to 2 goggles of wine. In certainty, please consider giving up alcohol in totality. Alcohol is a innate immunosuppressant and a depressant (according to my nephrologist). A discouraging combo if you ask me :-)
Good Luck!
i don't know roughly effects on the kidneys but 27 separate studies within the UK hold very soon allied moderate to frequent marijuana use to grown beginning schizophrenia. (Not a lecture) purely so ya know.
if you used marijuana within moderation, im sure you wont become a schitzophrenic. how silly. but i dont know if smoking is the instrument to be in motion. in attendance are other ways that may be easier for you, im sure if you followed a relationship from NORML.org you would bring back more info. you could use a tincture or a vaporizer a bit than smoke you know? righteous luck
