Does age affect your nail - flaking, blistering?

Have just gone through impulsive menopause and have developed devastating finger nails, - flaking, blistering, very soft is within a problem?

What would be the most probable causes?

Age 45

If you have not already done it, bring back your thyroid checked.

I went through like thing, thinking it be age. Then I got my thyroid checked, found out I enjoy a deficiency, started taking medication, and they get better. They are still worse than when I was younger, but not as impossible as without the thyroid medication.
