Is there an over the counter cure for psoriasis? I loathe steroids. Nothing my dermatologist gives me works, I surface like she's experimenting on me...Please recommend. Thank you.
Answers: Psoriasis is difficult to treat and most OTC products just do not work. FIrst of adjectives, after a shower or bath, be sure you use a moisturizer because hot dampen will cause your psoriasis to catch worse. While you may not want to use a steroid, it may be the only item that will work for you. Try OTC hydrocortisone cream. This is OK to use for awhile. If it helps, permit your doctor know. They can prescribe a stronger strength than what you can get OTC. I've have psoriasis for years, and it is so frustrating. Also, sometimes sunlight for a short time (15 min.) once a sunshine can help also. Good luck.
