ok im proud to say I'm a cancer survivor and i enjoy been cancer free thank God for 2years presently. and i dont take anymore pills or chemo anymore! and i have long fuzz now!! yay! i pop in my dr. every 3 months. here's the thing though until that time chemo i had such a honourable memory i remembered everything but now i cant remember anything!! resembling if i forget something i totally just forget in the order of it for like ever! is it because of the chemo or my busy life span now next to college and school?

Answers: Chemo brain is definatly real. I know near are those that say its not, but yeah, it is.. The first time around I have 6 chemo rounds over 9 months and the second 3 chemo rounds and massive radiation. I cant prove it because I have no brain scan from before the first treatment (atleast none recent anyways) to compare to the scan now. However, I constantly forget everything. I enjoy post its everywhere, send myself vmails and emails set alarms and everything else I can try to do to remind of stuff. Its approaching I completly forget about small things resembling switching the clothes or an appointment, even when I have spent much time deliberatly thinking going on for it.
I used to be great at math in my herald, to the point of solving long division and complicated algebra without rag. Now I have a intricate time doing simple addition in need a calculater even on paper much smaller number in my leader.
I have extensive vocabulary familiarity and though I have never be fluent in any other langs I used to know plenty french and spanish to get adjectives meanings across. Now I constantly own trouble thinking of the right word in english, much smaller quantity a foreign lang.
I used to have to hand perfect typing skills, presently I constantly hit the wrong keys or stuff close to that.
And I even have some hand/eye coordination issues presently. Never was remarkably graceful, but be never this clumsy before.
I purely re enrolled contained by school. Ofcourse, I finished up having to drop the entire semester too because I jump ahead of myself medically and ended up hospitalized and missed to copious classes, but I definatly was finding it much difficult than I remember (the closing time I was surrounded by school be 4 years ago, my last treatment be this past july, but the treatment be a stem cell (bone marrow) transplant which is incredibly traumatic on the body)
yes, chemo affects the entire body, including the brain. It will take time for you to do again your memory capabilities. Congratulations on surviving.
