I was at the hospital yesterday and the nurse stuck an IV surrounded by my inner elbow and it was excruciatingly tender but I forgot what IVs felt approaching so I sucked it up. It hurt so much I had it on for more or less 3 hours, and it hurt as much as it did when it went surrounded by. Anyways it was an IV put at hand just surrounded by case, so it wasn't attached to anything it be just approaching a little tube item with my blood rushing out (but stopped by the tube) and I wondered if my body be sending tons of blood clots there to try and "stop" that flow of blood.
And in a minute that my arm even after the day still hurts a great deal, it feels puffy, sore, swollen, numb, etc. is this middle-of-the-road? but what I'm most concerned about is it possible to develop a homicidal blood clot that might travel to the heart or lungs resulting from that IV? since it was "trauma" to the vein and there's probably a lot of clotting in attendance.
What do you think. Should I be concerned, What preventive signs should I look for?
