Pink eye and child's toys?

does anyone know -

does the virus/bacteria from pink eye "live" on the childs toys? if yes - for how long?

Answers:    The first responder is correct: Pink Eye is incredibly contagious, and nobody with a current infection should be at daycare, college, or work.

Hard toys (without electronic parts) can be run thru the
dishwasher, top rack. All "nukies", "plugs" or pacifiers should also be run thru.

Soft toys (again, no electronic parts) should go thru the wash machine on hot, the dryer lately to fluff them. Take them out and allow them to finish air-drying.

All bedding, pillows, etc., should be washed surrounded by hot water, as very well.

A 10% bleach spray can be applied to counters, fridge handles, crib rail & bars -- simply anything that your child touches.

Get rid of it in one fell swoop, fairly than risk infecting (or RE-infecting) members of the household.

Check out www.webMD.com for further information on the subject of this infection.

Good luck, hope your little one feels better soon.
Pink eye is TOTALLY CONTAGIOUS. WASH EVERYTHING!! Lets read out the kid with pink eye touches a toy and after another kid picks up the toy and then rubs his eyes...Bingo..the other kid will carry pink eye.

Same with towels. DONT SHARE right presently.....wash your hand continuosly as well...and form sure that other members of your ethnic group wash their hand much more than ususal while the on child has pink eye.
solely if they took a poop or farted on it
