i hold done that once and never get an infection.
a doctor told me that if you hold putting a drop of bleach in them they will tip out sour, not sure how long it take though.
but remember never use in the vicinity your eyes.
NO! My husband have a ton of them and his doctor say that if they really bother you to put a rubberband around them until they leak sour. But I don't recommend this totally any.
