I gave myself a wicked hand wound near a knife concluding week. The result of this was that I needed exploratory surgery to assess the vandalize to my nerves/tendon and finger joint.
I enjoy a very colossal dressing on my hand to restrict movement so unsophisticatedly my palm is packed next to wooly fibrous material and a cloth plaster is secured around this.
The warm wooly covering is making my hand clammy and the covering itself is beginning to acquire a wee bit smelly. My worry is this - does this next constitute a "dirty bandage"? Am I at risk of infection?
It is a whole week until my post-op followup appointment and I'm worried that this is a long time if indeed sweating inwardly the bandage is hazardous. NHS24 deeply just referred me to my GP if I be worried but I'd hate to dissipate their time if it turns out I'm just anyone paranoid.
Are there any healthcare workers or bandaged folks out at hand that can advise me?
