Why do I enjoy tendinitis-like strain that seem to be traveling down my arm and is immediately contained by my wrist and appendage?

Starting in November I have discomfort in my upper right arm. It feel like the tendons did not hold enough elasticity when I would outstretch my arm. In December it traveled to my elbow and extended down my forearm. The twinge in my elbow be bad if I tried to extend or lift my arm . There was no agony when my arm was at rest. There did not seem to be to be any redness or swelling surrounded by the areas. My arm and elbow pain are very soon gone but I now hold tenderness and swelling within my wrist and into my thumb area! I hold no explanation to the cause. There be no trauma to my arm and I don't do any repetitive movements that would aggravate it. I saw my doctor in January and she first suggested using a hand/wrist splint, icing it, elevating and taking Neproxin. Nothing seem to help so in a minute I am referred to an Orthopaedic and am scheduled for an MRI. What is going on next to this? Is it tendonitis? No one seems to enjoy a good answer for me.

Your symptoms nouns similar to tendonitis, except for the visible swelling. That could indicate a much more serious problem, such as an infection, rheumatoid arthritis, or a host of other things.
