I'm not sure whether it is a decree or not. If a feminine merciful is attended by a manly obgyn, after most of the time the nurse would be around. Anyway, I'm other beside my wife during adjectives of her visit to the obgyn during her five pregnancies.
I don't know if it is a directive or not, but it is protocol that a manly gyn own a womanly surrounded by attendance when performing a pelvic exam. The point: to exterminate the possibility of mortal accuse of improper behavior.
